Do you have a project you’ve been trying to “get around to” since 2021? Do you keep staring at it and going, “I’ll figure this out someday?” Well, fuck you! Someday is NOW!! Finish Your Shit 2025 is a game jam about finishing that project. Here’s how it works:

Pre-Jam Period: NOW to JULY 31

• Choose a project that you can conceivably finish by September 1. But be warned! This is an exercise in SCOPE:
  • DO NOT crunch or push yourself.
  • DO NOT aim to just “get a little done.” We’re getting it all done, baby.
• Create a thread in the Discord Server (#finish-your-shit-jam). In that thread, answer the following questions:
  • Project Name
  • Project Elevator Pitch
  • What does this project look like in a releasable state?
  • What is holding you back from finishing this project that you are seeking help with?
  • What are some things you can contribute to someone else’s project?
• Everybody hype each other up and offer to swap your skills.
  • We’re not doing anything to make sure that everyone is “pulling their weight,” so to speak, but a good rule of thumb is if you’re asking someone for help, you should help someone else.
  • The spirit of this is we are hauling all of our asses over the finish line together!!

JAM PERIOD: ALL OF AUGUST

• FINISH YOUR SHIT
• We’ll have regular coworking times and stuff to make sure we’re making that progress!

LAUNCH PERIOD: SEPTEMBER 1

• Put your shit out there! And then we celebrate!

Q: What if I don’t have any projects on the back-burner?

A: Make one up and say you’ve been thinking about it for the last three months.s

Q: I have a friend who’d like to join, can they come?

A: DM me! If I know them, probably yes. If I don’t know them, maybe yes.

Q: What if I need more time?

A: I guess you could take more time, there’s no rules, but the spirit of the jam is to make something that is finished. Doesn’t have to be perfect or even good!
